Cereal Dispenser Procedural

Brief description:
For this project I decided to do cereals inside cereal dispenser using RBD which not only creates natural assets of spreading cereals on the table and inside the dispenser but also allows to create massive particles easily. To make more realistic scene I decided to add cereals collapse on the cereal box collapse on the table.

  • Render program: Redshift                                                   Samples: High

  • Average render time: 5min 37 sec                                   Threshold: 0.005

  • Resolution: 1280 x 720                                                       Lights : three lights (environment, spot, area)

  • Complexity of geometry: 10,895

Cereal Particles

  • First of all, I made tube and connected with points from volume node which can make scatters inside the tube and connected with cereal using copy to points node which makes scatters to cereal. Since I wanted to make cereals inside the prop and spread particles naturally, I used RBD objects and connected props using static object node.

  • To give random colors on the fruit loops cereal, I used attribute randomize node and give a attribute name as color which also write as Cd and then inside the material I used RS user data color to bring attributes that I gave in the object tap. Lastly, I connected with ramp node and assigned 6 different. colors. Also used maxon noise and displacement to give crunch material on the cereal particles.

  • For cereal dispenser plastic part, I used curve tools and extrude the object which gives refraction on the transparent plastic material and used copy node to duplicate another dispenser.
For the bottom part prop of the dispenser, I used tube geometries and with Boolean tool I made a whole. Also used copy node to duplicate to make two same props.

Description of problems encountered and solutions

  • RBD
Because of too large tube that is connected to scatters it did not fit into the dispenser and when I cache out simulation cereals were trying to break out through the dispenser object but when I reduce the tube radius size cereals were exactly fit into the dispenser.
